You can use mains voltage if it involves already approved/CE-licensed parts that are simply wired together such as a power supply to a circuit board, but if you design and build your own part with 120 V inside, it’s on your head when the house burns down.

3-phase installations like industrial facilities and some apartments are fed with 208V 3-phase, which provide three phases of 120V to neutral, or 208V phase-to-phase.

The plug-in Kia Niro has an 8.9 kWh battery (vs. 1.6 kWh in the regular car). You can quickly estimate the amount of kWh you used in the week as long as the battery was fully drained every time you plugged the car in (it’s fully drained if the gasoline engine kicks in) and you know how many times you charged the car.

This device – and any high-powered device that’s home-built – should be regularly inspected to insure that the wiring is not degrading due to heat caused by increased resistance. That’s why the chassis has a clear lid.

I recall doing the exact same as a kid when in france, on holiday. The french also have those so seductive to interested kids 2-Prong plugs with a gap of ‘just’ that size….

The main issue would be shock protection. A bare PCB with solder mask probably won’t cut it for UL or CE. If you have vias in the element traces, it will probably be really dodgy. On a commercial product which you can’t (are not supposed to) open and tinker with, there is probably a way to do this easily. For a DIY printer, not so much.
