Bravo! Excellent topic, and you covered it brilliantly! Please keep articles like this coming! I look forward to more in this series.
The operation of the potential relay is based on the increase in back-electro-motive force (back-EMF) or a bucking voltage that is generated across the start winding as the motor increases in speed. The large metal mass of the motor’s rotor turning at high speeds with motor windings in close proximity has a voltage-generating effect.
A final benefit of the EVF is that it lets you keep the camera to your eye during video recording, something no other SLR currently offers, although some SLDs do.
So, you agree with 3mm. Good. A step forward. And because I see you want to use that Industrial standard as example how is your standard looking in case of soldermasked and conformal coated board? What I can say is that I used the 3mm/kV rule and never failed me in 25 years, no board rejected ever…and for the sake of the discution, as you know, when we are under 500V/10A circuits things looks a bit different in PCB Design. We are not sending nobody to the Moon nor switching a 500A Engine starter. It’s a max 300W lighbulb Switch and it’s 99.99% safer than the latest zilions of made in China dimmers and fake USB SMPS Mobile Chargers that arrived in your city in the last month.
I’m surprised no one mentioned how Mattias Wandel mounted the SSR on a piece of sheet metal (pretending it will be a heat sink), then mounted it on a water _heater_. I know the heater is insulated so it really shouldn’t be radiating any heat, but wouldn’t it have made more sense to mount the SSR on the cold water inlet pipe? You want to heat the water anyway… When I saw his first video showing off the project I said to myself that’s not going to end well. I’m surprised it lasted this long.

If you have an older system, you might like to see more of a pool system rebuild. If you are interested in controlling the pool chemistry, we’ve seen that before, too.
The mechanisms that take place if a big shock happens (big = high current, not voltage) is that it cooks the muscle so even though you sort of feel OK within a few hours the blood coagulates, you start to ache like you would not believe and you suffer a horrible painful death.
my first “real” job was in a video game arcade back in the 80’s my boss was a really cheap prick that used to buy asian cocktail machines that were “native” 110V, with a 240V to 110V step down transformer wedged in where it would fit, my second day I was fishing out a 20 cent coin that had missed the coin box, I got “zapped” hard enough to blow my finger nail in half and stop my heart.
I thought “residual current circuit breaker” was just the European name for what we call a GFCI in the US.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_shock#Factors_in_lethality_of_electric_shock If the current can be limited to Less than 30mA or less people should live, see the graph in the above link. This is much easier to achieve with lower voltages because the human body resistance is higher with lower voltage shocks ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_shock#Body_resistance ).
From the Auris to this, haven’t Toyota learnt anything. It’s just a slightly bigger and slightlly less DULL than the car it replaces.
