Of course in this case, there’s less heat per length of track, but the tracks are longer. So it cancels itself out in the end.

The time-multiplexed full-color RGB pixel technology generally worked well to deliver very high resolution with no gaps at all between the pixels. The only place I was aware of the EVF pixels were in diagonal strokes of letters on the various VF info readouts, or on the electronic level display, when the indicator lines were tilted. I never saw pixel jaggies when looking at the subjects I was shooting, even in the case of sharp high-contrast edges.

The control circuit for the 12V/24V can be as simple as a MOSFET and don’t even need to be isolated if you know what you are doing. Because you are using a regulated supply, the same heated bed can be used at different countries with different voltages. The safety regulatory stuff get you covered as 12/24V are considered to be low voltage.

If I was working on your bedroom lighting and an outlet in your basement stops working a few days later, that’s just a coincidence. I’ll come back for the second project, but don’t expect me to do it for free because I “broke” it the last time. If I wasn’t working with that circuit, this new problem is unrelated.

You can use mains voltage if it involves already approved/CE-licensed parts that are simply wired together such as a power supply to a circuit board, but if you design and build your own part with 120 V inside, it’s on your head when the house burns down.

Multilayer varistors (MLVs) address a specific part of the transient-voltage spectrum: the circuit-board environment. Although lower in energy, transients from ESD, inductive load switching, and even lightning-surge remnants might otherwise reach sensitive integrated circuits on the board. MLVs are also made of ZnO materials, but they’re fabricated with interwoven layers of metal electrodes and produced in leadless ceramic packages. They’re designed to transition from a high-impedance state to a conduction state when subjected to voltages that exceed their nominal voltage rating.

I couldn’t agree more. I was hesitant to document it at all, but my thinking was that if someone was going to try it, better they have an outline of the traps they face.
