The net result is that, while the Sony Alpha A33 is a fair bit thicker front-to-back than single-lens direct-view (SLD) cameras, which can do away with the bulky mirror box entirely, it’s still an exceptionally small camera by SLR standards. If the handgrip depth is ignored, the Sony A33 is actually just a little smaller than the smallest digital SLR to date, the Olympus E-420. Unlike the smallest SLD cameras, the A33 still includes a built-in electronic viewfinder — and for those SLDs that can accept an optional electronic viewfinder, much of their size advantage over Sony’s SLT-series models is erased once it’s installed. Sony’s A33 thus occupies a comfortable middle ground, sacrificing little of the versatility of a traditional SLR, yet bringing a worthwhile advantage in portability.
Probably best to derate to 1.5x or 2x. But even then, are the “solder” conductors inside really going to be any different? Looking at then they appear to crate a conductor way bigger than 25A requires.
1. A hot-neutral reversal will supply the 208/240V relay with 120V. It will make an angry buzzing noise but won’t close. Two hot-neutral reversals will supply it with 0 volts.
It’s *mostly* read-only. They usually have a LED for power-on indication. You could stick something to the front to detect that, if you needed a response. Tho for things like lights, usually the user will press the button again if they don’t come on the first time.
So you have to put new wire to have proper L1 anyway, you might as well put one that will serve properly 7times faster.
All this stuff makes me think it might be time to get a Faraday cage installed around my heart. Or maybe a big shunt from shoulder to shoulder.
The standard phrase in our repair shop was “electroplated’… as in …”I took that old CRT out and whoosh…. I damn near electroplated myself into the middle of next week when I touched the bottom of the LOPT”…. electrocution was reserved for politicians… as in “….how the hell could there possibly be enough numpties in this country to electorcute that old hag Thatcher…”
This thing is going to get really unhappy when you plug your 15 amp motor into it and it’s embedded in your wall outlet.
When I was a about 12, my mother decided to fault find a 35mm slide viewer. 240vac in, 6vac out of the transformer to a plug which fitted a socket under the viewer. Slide closed two metal contacts.
One of Sony’s nifty tricks is their in-camera "sweep panorama" technology. The A33 and A55 let you shoot panoramas with the camera held either vertically or horizontally. The vertical orientation makes taller/narrower panoramas that are 5,536 x 2,160 pixels, as seen in the top photo above. With the camera held in landscape orientation, panoramas are 8,192 x 1,856 pixels.
Like many things, it’s the few psychopaths who spoil it for the rest. For most people, it’s quite possibly an emotional disability.
Isn’t welding the core kind of a bad idea as it will short the laminated plates and make it heat a lot?
