Heat is a result of the friction of electron flow. Half the current at double the voltage should result in roughly half the heat if using the same size wire. It’s why our grid transmits at 100k volt over long distances.

If your in a TN-S property, its my understanding that ignoring that layout and putting your own earthing system in and bonding it to the supply one, can result in ground current back flowing through your system from neighboring properties.

Although a mains powered heated bed sounds scary for a hobbyist-built 3D printer, there are a number of positives to the design. I have to say up front that I’ve never been a fan of EVFs. While they do permit much more information overlay than conventional optical viewfinders, I’ve always felt that EVFs’ limitations have outweighed their advantages. In particular, EVFs usually have limited sensitivity and dynamic range, not to mention low refresh rates and poor resolution when compared with the view through a conventional optical viewfinder.
